Solana Blockchain Transaction Volume Hits $40 Billion, Memecoin Activity Surges

The daily transaction volume on the Solana blockchain has exceeded $40 billion, reaching its highest level since October 2022. This is reported by The Block.

The current figure has increased by 700% compared to the beginning of December 2023 – then it was $5 billion.

Nansen research manager Sandra Leow noted an increase in the daily number of transactions on the blockchain from 20-30 million to approximately 50 million.

“We also see the number of daily active wallets on Solana growing from 120,000 in October 2023 to 470,000 in January 2024,” she added.

Data scientist Andrew Hong emphasized that after SOL, USDT and USDC, the bulk of transactions on the network are provided by the WIF and BONK meme tokens.

Data: Dune Analytics.

According to CoinGecko, BONK became the leader in dynamics for 2023 among digital assets from the top 100 by capitalization with a growth rate of 7302.9%.

In December, a crypto trader under the pseudonym Blockgraze turned $1,000 into $200,000 trading WIF. He acquired the meme token in late November after its debut on the Solana DeFi market.

In the same month, an unknown trader managed to earn $2 million in 22 days on a single transaction with the meme coin SILLY, investing 1 SOL (~$62 at that time). According to on-chain data, the user noticed the coin 5 minutes after the start of its trading and bought 43.1 million SILLY.

Let us remind you that within six days an unknown trader was able to earn more than $5.7 million by investing only 30 SOL ($2220). He purchased 16 billion ANALOS coins in the first minute of trading opening in the Raydium liquidity pool.
