Mandarin Chord Borg shared an update in the stories section of his Instagram account on Monday, in which he said that he had found a dead baby bird in his home.
– I got up from the couch and saw it behind the couch in the corner. I got a chill, Borg wrote in his update. Instagram stories are viewable for 24 hours after they are published.
– We no longer even leave the windows open when we are away, he wrote in the update.
Borg tells Iltalehte that he was away from his home for several hours on Monday, when the apartment was empty. Borg lives with his spouse Tomi Solonen with in an apartment building in Helsinki.
– I came home already during the day. I saw that we have something that looks like bird poop on the sofa. I looked around to see that there was no bird here, so maybe it was some kind of food, Borg says he thought.
Only in the evening did Borg find the bird. It was lying on the floor behind the couch in the corner near the window.
– Raukkaparka must have been alone in a panic when he couldn’t get out and tried to drag the bucket around.
Borg suspects that the bird got into the apartment when no one was home. By the time Borg found the bird, it was already dead.

Borg says he feels guilty about the fate of the bird. The couple had left the window open when they left their home, and the bird had come in through the small hole.
– It hasn’t even occurred to me that it’s not worth it (to leave the window open). However, we have an old stone house that needs to be ventilated on hot days. At least we learned now.
– I cried at home and Tomi fixed it, it’s terrible, Borg mourns.
Borg says that Solonen buried the bird in the yard.
– I felt so guilty for not going along, says Borg.
Borg says that many of his Instagram followers have come to say that the same thing has happened to them. Now Borg wants to remind people that windows should not be left open if the apartment is left empty, unless nets have been installed.
– Then you don’t have to cry in the evenings and hold a funeral for the birds, he says.
