The Mac has built-in virtualization, but good luck:

KVM and Qemu are not integrated virtualization, you will still need to download/install the packages. And does it matter if you use one or the other virtualization software? Sure a KVM and Qemu are free, but try quickly (without googling it) setting up a TPM 2.0 and/or secure-boot/UEFI…
A VMWare merge player is free for personal use and paid for business use. How long before you or your boss make that $135/$180 just by fiddling less with VMs, virtual networks, etc.? And every ~13 months an upgrade of €70/€90, currently you can also upgrade version 11, so once every 26 months you might get away with it if you don’t like the new version…
I bought VMware Workstation Pro 15.5 in June 2020, I bought the v. 16 in September of the same year and now I will turn to v. 17 and I can go another year or two. Together they cost ~€370 (excluding VAT), which will translate to €90-€120 per year, which really pays off considering I’ve built many (different) VMs over the last 2.5 years! But if you can read and write with KVM/Quemu/etc. then the question is really why would you use something else if your current solution can do what you want…
Personally, I’m not a fan of the free Hyper-V solution in Windows…
Edit: bug fixed.
