Software update: Jellyfin 10.8.6 – Computer – Download

The Jellyfin server is top notch.
Jellyfin for AndroidTV mainly causes a lot of irritation here. As for the very small development team, I don’t think they have priorities in order. It could be wrong:
That a number of things are completely solved with Player Rewrite alone, that’s fine. That the rewrite may take a few more years, that’s fine. But simple things like that during playback you go back to the menu and you don’t get to the Resume screen but Play Next. I think it was reported almost a year ago.
Or that in the Play Next list, for example, episode 10, 11, 16, 17 etc. is shown. Why that hole? It’s purely this list in the UI, because it neatly plays 12, 13, 14, 15 too. They’re there even when you start watching through programs. Or that you have to go all the way to the main Jellyfin screen, before the watched statuses are updated within the shows.

The subtitles were too big to use, a matter of changing the default settings in the next version, if you can’t follow the Jellyfin Server settings. How long did it take? How many people have complained about this? such a small adjustment of literally 2 characters in 1 or other configuration file. It took more than a year.
Rewind a bit, even if it’s only 2-3 steps – audio out of sync, consistent with everything I’m playing.

It means that unfortunately I have to keep using the Kodi + Jellyfin addon (in addon mode), while I don’t need Kodi at all and really don’t want to. But then all the above problems disappeared.
Unfortunately once Kodi, plugin or server is updated, the Kodi sync queue in Kodi is always disabled. Don’t you know, just when you wonder after a week, man, there weren’t any new broadcasts last week? And the “Update Library” feature in Kodi has no effect on the addon. Then you have to find the addon (which is very cumbersome in Kodi), reactivate the sync queue, disable Kodi and open it again.

I’ve been watching TV like this for over 20 years (mediaportal, XMBC, OSMC, Kodi, Jellyfin) and it’s definitely gotten easier, but I’m disappointed that this type of thing still has so many basic problems.
