Software-update: AlmaLinux 9.0 – Computer – Downloads

Yes and no. For production (server) environments, you’re right, with the caveat that CentOS Stream sits between Fedora and RHEL. So it is not the case that you suddenly get all kinds of random stuff with CentOS Stream. The ‘game’ is in Fedora, and if it works fine there it goes to CentOS and then it goes to RHEL. So yes, it’s not RHEL but no, it’s not a bleeding edge rolling distro.

For those seeking a decent, RH-like release that may be more stable and less cutting edge than Fedora, CentOS Stream is a great alternative.

For server or enterprise Linux where support contracts are desired, always RHEL.

And if RHEL is desired, but support contracts are not necessary, AlmaLinux

In my opinion then.
