Software pioneer McAfee dead in Spanish cell | Abroad

Justice in the US says that McAfee, who founded the well-known antivirus company McAfee in the 1980s, did not file any tax returns from 2014 to 2018. He would also have withheld possessions, including real estate, a yacht and a car. In those years, McAfee is said to have made millions of dollars.

If convicted in the US on all charges he was suspected of, McAfee could face up to 30 years in prison.

McAfee was arrested in July 2019 in a manhunt in the Dominican Republic after he and five others were suspected of traveling on a yacht with weapons.
