Softening, Zelensky opens the door to original peace talks …

KIEV – President Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky hinted at the possibility of peace talks with Russia . Zelensky’s attitude shows a change because he previously refused to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Zelensky on Monday urged the international community to force Russia into real peace talks.

“Kiev has repeatedly proposed (debates) and we have always received the crazy response from Russia with new terrorist attacks, shootings or extortion,” Zelensky said. APTuesday (8/11/2022).

Zelensky then drew up a list of conditions for the start of the dialogue.

“The restoration of (Ukraine’s) territorial integrity … compensation for all war damage, punishment for any war criminals and a guarantee that it will never happen again,” he said.

Zelensky had previously stated in late September that it was impossible to hold talks with Putin.

Meanwhile, Russia continued its calls for peace talks following the start of the Ukrainian counter-offensive in the east and south of the country in September, but Ukraine has since turned down that possibility.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko stressed that Moscow did not set any conditions for the resumption of peace talks with Ukraine and accused Kiev of not having “good intentions”.
