The Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office (SGP) proposed to the Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev to submit a motivated request to the Central Election Commission (CEC) for permission to prosecute VG, a candidate for MP in the elections for the National Assembly scheduled for 14 November, the prosecutor’s office said.
The proposal by SGP was prepared in connection with the pre-trial proceedings initiated on November 3. Witnesses and other actions were questioned in the course of the investigation. The prosecutor’s office points out that evidence has been collected that on November 2 in Sofia V.G. has helped to issue an EU Digital COVID certificate for a completed vaccination course for single-dose vaccines and thus violated rules issued against the spread or outbreak of a contagious disease in humans, namely the Order of the Minister of Health of 31.05.2021.
V.G. has acted as an accomplice by deliberately facilitating the commission of the crime, the prosecutor’s office added.
