Antifreeze treatments have begun

Snowy Sofia. The municipality has announced that it has started treatments with antifreeze compounds. These are performed in the areas of “Vitosha”, “Ovcha Kupel”, “Lyulin”, “Vrabnitsa”, “Bankya” and others. More than 60 snow removal machines are in field operation mode.

At the moment, public transport runs all the usual routes. The situation is monitored by Metropolitan Inspectorate teams, assisted by the Emergency Assistance and Prevention Directorate.

The snow is expected to continue and temperatures will drop below freezing. Council reminds motorists to use their cars equipped for driving in winter conditions and to drive carefully at an appropriate speed.
