Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office will investigate caretaker Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov.
This was reported by Dnevnik, stating that the state prosecution had requested the disclosure of Rashkov’s tax and social security secrets, and according to the media, the prosecutor’s office’s request was made earlier this week.
In the meantime, however, the SGP denied conducting an investigation against Rashkov. Sofia City Prosecutor Iliana Kirilova told BNR that no case has been filed against the caretaker Interior Minister, nor have there been any requests to the National Revenue Agency for a tax audit.
Already in the summer against the acting Minister of Interior there were attacks about his property status and insistence by GERB for more information on where he got certain properties.
They came after he reported that the prosecutor’s office was inactive in checking the assets of magistrates and politicians.
Then Rashkov noted that he worked like any Bulgarian and bought his property honestly.
At the moment there is no signal that there is a real discrepancy between the income and the property status of the Minister of Interior.
