Member of the Expert Council of the DPP party Golkar Ridwan Hisjam welcomed the former governor of East Java Soekarwo to the Golkar Party. Ridwan said it was appropriate for Soekarwo to return to his old home.
“It is appropriate for Pak Karwo to return to his old home and I, as a senior member of the Golkar Party in East Java province, am very happy and very happy, because Pak Karwo can together with us grow banyan trees in East Java” Ridwan said on Tuesday (3/1/2023).
Ridwan then reviewed his trip with Soekarwo and Soenarjo to Golkar. When together to build a party in the era of the New Order.
“The three of us together raised Golkar in the New Order era until the time when Golkar Party became a political party, so there was a law that civil servants could not participate in parties,” Ridwan said.
He said that basically Soekarwo was a Golkar-oriented civil servant. Karwo is said to have served as steward of Golkar during the New Order era.
“And Pak Karwo was listed as administrator of Golkar in New Order era, especially as Chairman of OKK Office, Member Organization Office and also as Vice Chairman of Golkar East Java in the beginning of reform era,” he said.
When the law stipulated that civil servants could not join parties, Ridwan’s two colleagues, namely Soekarwo and Soenarjo, left Golkar. Soekarwo was then promoted by the Democratic Party to run for governor of East Java.
“So Mr. Karwo and Mr. Narjo chose to become civil servants in East Java Provincial Government. Meanwhile, I will continue all my friends’ struggle to become Golkar Party Chairman of East Java in the era of reform,” he Ridwan explained.
“Eventually, Pak Karwo returned to his old home, which Pak Karwo considered a nice home, a cool, shady home and he grew up under a banyan tree at that time,” he continued.
