The Dutch publisher Soedesco has deleted Truck Driver – Premium Edition. This would be the first PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series version of the truck simulator. The publisher says this is due to problems developing the Heading North DLC.
Soedesco says to have encountered “unexpected bumps” in developing the Truck Driver: Heading North DLC that forced that DLC to be postponed. The publisher already announced in September 2021 Heading North and said at the time to postpone the DLC by a few weeks. Now, almost two years later, it is not yet known when the dlc should appear.
The Premium Edition was supposed to appear a little after that Heading North DLC, but Soedesco now says that the Premium Edition will not appear at all, due to the delay of Heading North. The publisher emphasizes that it is still working on Truck Driver and the Heading North DLC.
Truck Driver – Premium Edition would use updated truck models that would utilize the capabilities of the current-gen consoles. The edition would also contain all released DLC. Soedesco announced the Premium Edition in July 2021 and said at the time that the version would be released in September that year.
The truck simulator is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Part of the game was made by Soedesco’s internal Dutch development studio, other parts were made together with international studios. In the game, players can build a career as a truck driver. The Heading North DLC should include a map with Nordic influences.
