Södertälje showed that the table does not lie.
The signings just before the deadline on February 15 were the difference against Djurgården.
As if dropping off at 8.30pm wasn’t late enough. A claw-fingered one in the Djurgårdsklacken in the Scaniarink had managed to get a pyro in – as if the pyro scandal in the same arena almost exactly three months ago had never happened.
The match was postponed for a quarter of an hour. The players had to make their way into the dressing rooms, but luckily it stopped at a smoker in the stands this time.
May this crap NEVER happen again. In some arena.
For the hockey that is played at the top of the Hockeyallsvenskan, these rounds before the playoffs with every point weighted to a thousand are awesome.
Södertälje kept its more than 5,100 strong audience in a good mood for most of the match. But above all from the end of the first period onwards.
Marcus Eriksson is a master at creating chances and was incredibly, almost ridiculously close, to send in a puck, but Djurgården’s Ludvig Rensfeldt and all the world’s inflexibility were in SSK’s way.
