Sodercan’s Board of Directors approved the membership at its last meeting and expressed its appreciation for the invitation to the secretary general of the chamber institution, Wanyi Zhao.
The president of the council and counselor for Industry, Tourism, Innovation, Transport and Commerce of the regional government, Javier López Marcano, stressed that the Chamber of Commerce and Investments of China in Spain is “an important platform to promote economic and business exchanges between China and our country and can act as a bridge between the Chinese companies established in Spain and the business fabric of Cantabria “.
He added that the adhesion of Sodercan to the Chamber of Commerce of China in Spain as a partner of honor “opens the door to various lines of collaboration, such as virtual promotional events in Cantabria or online business meetings.”
Added to this is “the dissemination of Cantabria’s potentialities” in the business, economic and commercial spheres, among others, in the Chamber’s media (website and Wechat platform); invitation to events organized by the Chamber; dissemination of exhibitions of relevance from China, and so on.
CHINA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN SPAIN
The Chamber of Commerce and Investments of China in Spain (CCINCE) was founded in July 2012 under the leadership of the Embassy of the Asian country in ours.
It is the only bilateral Chamber of Commerce between China and Spain that has been approved by the Ministry of Commerce of China and registered with the Spanish Ministry of the Interior.
At present, it has 62 partners in different autonomous communities, such as Madrid, Catalonia, Galicia, Castilla y León, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Andalusia, the Valencian Community, Navarra or Aragon.
These partners cover a wide range of sectors such as telecommunications, banking and finance, air transport, maritime transport, engineering consulting, steel, hospitality, renewable energy, electrical appliances, insurance, food, culture, sports or manufacturing.
Among the 62 partners, there are eight honorary members: Aragón Exterior, KPMG SA, Official Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Álava, Basque Trade & Investment, ACCIÓ, Institute of Economic Development of the Principality of Asturias (IDEPA), Institut d’Innovació Empresarial de les Illes Balears (IDI) and the Murcia Region Development Institute (INFO) The Board of Directors of the Chamber is made up of 9 members. The company that holds the presidency is China Construction Bank (Europe) Branch in Spain.
In addition, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Europe) Sucursal en España, Huawei Technologies España, Air China Limited Sucursal en España, ZTE España, GPRO Spain Development, COSCO SHIPPING Lines (Spain), Yixinou (Spain) International Freight are vice presidents, while that Dentons Europe Abogados is vocal.
The Chamber of Commerce and Investments of China in Spain is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of China before the European Union, is a founding partner of the Joint Conference of Chinese Overseas Chambers of Commerce and a member of the Board of Directors of the same.
