Society needs laws everywhere

For the national vote on the corporate responsibility initiative
—
I recently attended the information evening on the KOVI initiative in Sachseln. I was looking forward to the film “The Group Report”. I was also interested in the following report by Karl Vogler from Lungern, lawyer and former CSP National Councilor.
My message to you now is that whoever saw this film no longer needs to weigh the pros and cons. This speaks for itself and shows the unadulterated truth of those affected. As Karl Vogler said, society needs laws everywhere. For example, if there were no buses on the road, we would have more accidents. The initiative requires those who cause harm to be liable for it.
The counter-proposal of the Federal Council, which requires a glossy brochure as proof of corporate activities, is an alibi exercise. It does not work because it does not understand the root causes.
There are business representatives who want us to believe that our SMEs will be damaged if the initiative is accepted. It is not so. In addition, the argument that in this difficult Covid-19 situation we must not weaken our business any more is scared.
My answer to this rationale is, please watch the 40 minute film on YouTube! If this takes too long for you, there is a trailer for brief information.
Covid-19 is not only available from us, but also in the countries from which we obtain a large part of our raw materials. Let us make it possible for these people to do what we take for granted despite the crisis. In addition to clean drinking water and good air, this means respect for the culture of life. With this in mind, thank you for a yes!
