Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – Freiburg’s Lord Mayor Martin Horn has become a father for the third time and is taking a four-week parental leave. “We are overjoyed about the birth of our daughter,” the non-party politician wrote on Facebook on Thursday. Mother and child are “alive and well”. As announced, he now takes time for the family, but can still be reached in urgent cases. He is informed about important developments and he takes part in crucial corona meetings.
The official business is now taken over by Freiburg’s First Mayor Ulrich von Kirchbach, as the city announced. Horn had announced his planned break in advance and, according to his own statements, received both praise and criticism. Horn already has two sons aged four and two. In the summer he wants to take another four-week parental leave.
