inter-municipal. A crisis meeting took place last night between Michel Fontaine and union representatives in view of the proliferation of the virus. In some services, “there are three variants for a Covid case”.
Restless start to the week for the agents of the Inter-municipal Social Action Center (Cias) and Civis. Yesterday evening, an emergency meeting was set up between union representatives and the president of Civis Michel Fontaine to address “the very worrying situation on the evolution of the virus within the services”, relates the elected official. For several days, the number of people testing positive for Covid-19 has been on an explosive slope. Same curve plot for the contact cases.
Already yesterday, the Cias sent a press release that did not bode well. The service made it known that the “Moulin à Café” crèche in the Ravine des Cabris was temporarily closing its doors as of today, at the request of the Regional Health Agency. “The reopening is not planned for the moment, it is necessary to wait until all the conditions are met to be able to welcome the children in the respect of the sanitary measures”, wrote the Cias recalling that it is preferable that the children are not on guard in vulnerable people such as grandparents.
New municipal services closed
It must be said that the center is not spared by the health crisis. Building B of the Civis headquarters in Pierrefonds, where the agents work, is closed until further notice.
Between the latter and the employees of the Civis facilities department, 40 people were placed in confinement for having contracted the virus or being in contact with it. “Screening for all agents will be set up from Tuesday,” assures Michel Fontaine for his part.
The mayor of Saint-Pierre does not find more respite in his own administration since the capital of the South is witnessing a surge in cases among its municipal employees. After the alert given by municipal police officers on the proliferation of the virus in their ranks, it is the agents of the land and development services who are severely affected. In this cell, there are “three cases of variants for a Covid case”, relates the mayor who delivers never having attested to such a ratio. South African for the most part, Brazilian for a few.
In any case, the services will also be closed until further notice and the employees placed in confinement. But here no fixed date for mass screening, the ARS has not yet given its recommendations to the elected.
“Barrier gestures and protective measures should be applied in the professional and especially personal circle”, recalls Michel Fontaine, hoping not to have to close other municipal services as the epidemic progresses .
