/ world today news/ Socialists from several metropolitan areas gave a serious resistance and boycott to the proposals of Cornelia Ninova at conferences on Saturday, world today news learned.
In “Vazrazhdane”, “Krasna Polyana”, “Nadezhda”, “Iskar” and other conferences came out with categorical decisions that now is not the time to consider a new statute of the party and this issue should be postponed.
We remind you that the congress on February 4 and 5 is being called mainly because of the idea of the social leader that the BSP needs a new statute. In it, those for limiting the number of parliamentary mandates to 3 or to 12 years are pushed. Many socialists in the capital have protested against such mechanical rule. Dozens of voices have been heard saying that deputies should be evaluated by their efficiency, not by the number of years they have spent in the National Assembly. For this reason, in “Krasna Polyana” Yanaki Stoilov was again nominated, and in “Iskar” and “Nadezhda” the ex-leader Mikhail Mikov was also nominated, who will be the first victims if the new rule passes. According to insiders, in fact, the new text was introduced mainly because of the two of them, as a way for Ninova to secure an inexperienced parliamentary group that is subject to easy control and corporate influence.
The idea of the BSP leader being directly elected by the party, which is also being pushed through with the new constitution, has also met with strong opposition. According to the socialists in the capital, this idea completely destroys the collective beginning in the party, which is a historical tradition of the left. Many delegates have expressed concerns that this is a way to turn the BSP into a leadership party because the chairman will be placed above all collective bodies and will be untouchable within his 4-year term. In the new constitution, the mandates of the chairman are limited to 2, but according to the opponents, in 8 years a leader can push the BSP in an irreversibly wrong direction.
It is noteworthy, however, that in the information officially distributed by the BSP about the conferences held in Sofia, there was no mention of the political discussions that were held. Also, the news that the socialists boycotted Ninova and called into question her main political endeavor as party leader did not appear anywhere.
“Pogled Info” also learned that in many places around Sofia, and across the country, ordinary socialists have expressed concerns about the composition of the caretaker government. According to them, the sign given by most of the ministers is not good and portends dark times for the BSP.
