Social Security will stop issuing payments in December to these beneficiaries

The Social Security Administration (SSAfor its acronym in English) will make important modifications in your payments corresponding to the last two months of this 2024 that could affect its beneficiaries.

The annual payment scheduleSSA contemplates that deposits are made on the first day of each monthbut if this is a weekend or holiday it will go to the last Friday of the previous month.

This way, the payment corresponding to December will have to be made of the first Sunday of the last month of the year to Friday, November 29which will result in two deposits being made one month while none in the other.

Who will be affected by the November double payment?

The beneficiaries of the program Supplemental Security Income (SSIfor its acronym in English) will be the ones who will be affected by this rescheduling of social security payments.

That is why the entity asks its beneficiaries to be aware of the moment of payment and also manage yourself to avoid making ends meet without enough money to cover all personal expenses covered by SSI.

This program is intended to provide financial assistance to people with limited incomes, including seniors and people with disabilities.

The payments corresponding to the month of November will be distributed as follows, based on the beneficiary’s date of birth.

• November 1: SSI payment

• November 1: Social Security payment (for those receiving both benefits)

• November 13: Social Security payment for those born between the 1st and 10th of the month

• November 20: Social Security payment for those born between the 11th and 20th of the month

• November 27: Social Security payment for those born between the 21st and 31st of the month

• November 29: Second August of the SSI corresponding to December

Beneficiaries can access their payments through the debit card of the Federal Reserve Bankcommonly known as Direct Express, which allows you to withdraw cash at ATMs and make purchases directly in stores.
