The monthly checks issued by the Social Security Administration in the United States help millions of retirees, low-income seniors and the disabled.
In this sense, the Social Security Administration (SSA) establishes a payment schedule with the exact dates where each beneficiary receives their checks.
So, depending on the conditions of the recipient, the amounts are determined. While in the case of retirees, it is done according to the retirement age.
Let us remember that the planning is usually the same every month, except if the days coincide with weekends or holidays. Therefore, the payment schedule for the month of March will be made as follows:
On Friday, March 1, it will be paid to Supplemental Security Income recipients and retirees before May 1997.
On Wednesday, March 13, the payment will be made to retirees after May 1997, born between the 1st and 10th of any month.
Retirees after May 1997 born between the 11th and 20th of any month will receive their money on March 20. While, those retired after May 1997 born between the 21st and 31st of any month will do so on the 27th.
Aid amount
An increase of 3.2% experienced the 2024 Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). Therefore, the amounts for retirees and beneficiaries of the various SSA social programs will also increase.
That is, $943.00 USD will be received by individual beneficiaries of Supplemental Security Income, who are the first to receive their checks.
While, $1415.00 USD is the amount for married couples and $472.00 USD for essential people. Additionally, retirees have an average of $1907.00 USD every month.
Although, it should be clarified that retirees at age 62 receive $2710.00 USD. This is because the entity assigns payments depending on the retirement age.
Likewise, those retired at the average retirement age (67 years) receive $3,822.00 USD and those retired at age 70 receive $4,873.00 USD.
