Social Security Fund in Coclé Administers 2,462 Vaccines in January: Children Aged 1-5 Most Vaccinated

With the application of 2,462 vaccines, in the month of January, the Nursing Department of the Social Security Fund in Coclé began 2024, and the most vaccinated group was children from one to five months of age, with 416 doses , to whom hexavalent, rotavirus and Prevenar 13 were applied.

Rosa Rudas, in charge of the Expanded Immunization Program, mentioned that the next group with the highest number of vaccines administered (230) were one-year-old children, to whom the TDAP vaccines were administered.

He added that of the XBB vaccine, from Omicron, only nine doses were applied, in people over 60 years of age; the one that is being used in the three polyclinics and the CAPPS of the CSS of Coclé, together with the rest of the vaccines that make up the vaccination schedule that is complete (hexavalent, rotavirus, tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough, MR, bivalent , etc).

The “Manuel Paulino Ocaña” Polyclinic, in Penonomé, was the facility that administered the largest number of vaccines (1,150) because the population assigned to that district is larger.

For its part, the “Dr. Rafael Estévez”, from Aguadulce, administered 466 vaccines to employees and in programs such as the Wound Clinic, Occupational Health, hemodialysis and labor and delivery.

The Lcda added. Rosa Rudas who are currently coordinating to participate in the national campaign against measles, which will take place at the end of March and beginning of April.
