Social Security beneficiaries in the United States will receive their regular payments next August. In fact, a group of them get their money right at the beginning of the eighth month of the year.
This first payment in August includes Social Security beneficiaries, as well as those who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI). In the latter case, people over 65 years old, blind or disabled, with limited income and resources are taken care of.
Dividend payment dates in August
Here are the dates set for August Social Security payments.
– August 1: SSI beneficiaries and those who began receiving payments before August 1997.
-August 2: Social Security beneficiaries who also receive SSI.
– August 14: beneficiaries born between the 1st and the 10th of any month of the year.
– August 21: beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of any month of the year.
– August 28: beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of any month of the year.
– August 30: advance payment of SSI for September.
SSI beneficiaries can receive up to $943.00 USD if they are single. Meanwhile, they will pay up to $1,415 USD if they are a married couple and both are eligible for the program.
For example, on August 1, 2024, direct payments will be made to thousands of beneficiaries. The SSA distributes payments based on the type of benefit and the beneficiary’s date of birth.
Those who have received Social Security payments since May 1997 receive their money on the 3rd of each month. If that date falls on a weekend or holiday, payment will be carried forward to the previous business day. In fact, this will happen on August 2, 2024.
