Social Memory – PublicoGT

Fernando Cajas
The Corrupt Pact is not only made up of the corrupt but also stupid people, people with little education in history, poorly educated scroungers, short-sighted businessmen, jurists who plagiarized their theses, engineers who bought their degrees, doctors who are not doctors but murderers, public officials who They do not have a vocation for service and they do not have the capacity to serve either, people with an enormous need for their egos to be admired, full of insecurities, capable of giving everything because they are flattered, men of lies blinded by power. This group of incongruent people has imposed their distorted vision of democracy in Guatemala since 1954.

They are stupid not because they do not have enough neurons but rather because their approach does not allow them to visualize that they themselves destroy the country where they live. The mental structure of these retrogrades remained in the Cold War, guided by the vision of Mario Sandoval Alarcón, a Guatemalan politician who, together with Manuel Ayau, were the ideologues of the Guatemalan right. These landowners, who had become more powerful through the management of shady businesses, provided the super ideological structure to murder thousands of Guatemalans left and right to maintain a corrupt state at the service of a few, of them.

They are stupid because they have not realized that we are no longer in the Cold War, that dichotomy between left and right as they perceive it no longer exists. These stupid people believe that Semilla is a party of communists and that is why they are terrified that Arévalo will become president. In their stupidity they have manipulated the laws that, unlike them, did evolve. We have a Constitution where it is stipulated, requested, legislated that the three powers of the state, the legislative, the judicial and the executive, must be independent. The reason is that we don’t want to have a dictatorship, which is where we come from. A Dictator rules absolutely. That’s where we come from.

After the counter-revolution of 1954, the suffering of Guatemalan society intensified. There was no family that had been touched by violence, there was none. To get out of that we had to start over and the 1986 Constitution redefined a new social organization, a new political contract that was reflected in our Constitution that clearly gives the Supreme Electoral Tribunal the power of electoral management and eliminates the discretion of the Public Ministry who It was the court that decided whether or not they approved a certain political party, depending on its ideology, that is, if it had any socialist, let alone communist, tendencies. That was the country of terror and that is the country to which this social psychopath Alejandro Giammatei wants to return us. That’s where we come from.
They are stupid because in their desire to prevent Semilla from reaching the executive branch they violate laws, regulations, regulations, they violate everything because fear does not allow them to understand what democracy is about. Democracy requires thinking, a way of conceiving society that is very different from that of the members of the Corrupt Pact. These corrupt people remained in the fifties, sixties, seventies and eighties because then the army decided who participated and who did not and then the Public Mystery was the one who defined whether a political party could participate or not, depending on its ideology.

The constituents of 1986 realized that the country could not escape its political underdevelopment without making structural changes that society demanded. We had been in a civil war, an armed uprising that lasted thirty years of fighting between brothers, two hundred thousand, 200,000 dead. That was the price of democracy. Life knowing it, martyrs, brothers and others made structural changes that would give social space to a new community political organization where the parties did not have to ask permission from the general on duty, the dictator on duty but rather should allow themselves freedom of organization. Will there be a need for another 200,000 Guatemalan souls to die?

The historical memory of our martyrs, sisters and brothers, deserve more than a tear, which I certainly shed. Those two hundred, 200,000 lives deserve respect because they were the passport to democracy. That is why I believe that the Corrupt Pact is not only made up of the corrupt, it is made up of stupid people, people with no biological memory and no historical memory who now, in their social myopia, want to return us to the circle of death. Therefore, for the blood, life, truncated dreams of those 200,000, two hundred thousand, for them, for what we live today and believe in respect for the laws and for those who have not been born, but will come, for all, we must recover our historical memory and unite to defend, with teeth and nails, with words, with reasoning, with everything, we must defend this fragile democracy. Either it is now or it will never be Guatemala.
