Social dialogue: The government boasts of a record of 4.25 million beneficiaries

According to a press release from the Department of the Head of Government published Monday, around 4.25 million individuals, divided between 1.25 million civil servants and 3 million employees in the private sector, have benefited from an increase in income since the start of the social dialogue.

During the April 2024 session, an agreement was reached between the government, the trade union centers, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Moroccan Confederation of Agriculture and Rural Development (COMADER). This agreement made it possible to agree on the basic principles for the reform of pension systems, the examination of which will continue with a view to its presentation to Parliament during the fall 2024 session, indicates the source.

The same source adds that the draft organic law on the strike will be submitted to Parliament during the current spring session, and the government will also examine certain texts relating to labor legislation, in consultation with its social and economic partners.

This agreement marks the culmination of the efforts of the various parties who have formulated proposals to find acceptable solutions to the demands, aimed at improving the situation of employees and preserving the competitiveness of national companies as well as their social commitments. This consolidates the commitments of the agreement of April 30, 2022 which established the foundations of social dialogue.

The Head of Government described the signing of the agreement for the April 2024 session as a “historic event”, marking significant progress in improving the condition of workers, an issue always supported by the King who calls for particular attention to promoting development, social equity and national solidarity. He also underlined the government’s continued commitment to collaborating with its social and economic partners as part of the institutionalization of social dialogue, a strategy in line with the Royal Vision.
