The Lyon Metropolis is organizing a major “social” month in its territory in November, notably with the holding of the Social Affairs Forum. This forum is an opportunity to bring together elected officials, technicians in charge of social issues as well as representatives of European institutions to discuss the social issues facing cities and metropolises, and share the solutions they implement.
It is as Vice-President of the Social Affairs Forum that the Métropole de Lyon organizes this Forum with EUROCITIES. She wanted to get involved in this network to bring the voice of metropolises and cities to European institutions on the social issues they face.
The challenges of the Social Affairs Forum will be :
Identify new forms of social vulnerability appeared in cities and metropolises following the successive crises which affected Europe
Address how metropolitan cities respond by developing new social policies integrating the most vulnerable people in their development and implementation
Call on European institutions to integrate these questions into their European policies and provide strong support to cities and metropolises.

This forum is an opportunity to raise the needs of metropolises, cities and local stakeholders to effectively respond to the social challenges we face: housing/homelessness, access to essential services, migration, mental health, fuel poverty, inclusion young people and the most vulnerable people. »
The Social Affairs Forum gives the Lyon Metropolis the opportunity to join forces with around thirty local stakeholders in order to highlight projects implemented jointly. Tours of the territory are offered to participants in the form of five thematic tours on Thursday, November 9: homelessness and migration, inclusion of young people, access to essential services, mental health, inclusive and accessible territory
