Soccer = Shakhtar, about 3.2 billion yen to support Ukrainian soldiers and bereaved families | Reuters

(Reuters) – Ukrainian football club Shakhtar Donetsk president Rinat Akhmetov said on Wednesday it would allocate $25 million to help soldiers and families fighting the Russian army.

The money will go towards providing medical and emotional support as part of a project to help soldiers and their families.

Shakhtar have announced the transfer of midfielder Mihailo Mudrik to Chelsea (England). The transfer fee will be up to 100 million euros (about 13.9 billion yen), which is said to be the highest in the history of Shakhtar and Ukrainian football.

Akhmetov also confirmed that Shakhtar will play a friendly against Chelsea at the Donbass Arena.
