Tied on points before the match, Ploermel and Chartres of Brittany knew that victory would be crucial in order to ensure the continuation. Although the game was high intensity between two teams playing ball, chances were rare.
Chartres put the pressure on from the start of the match by taking over the Ploermelais side. But it was ultimately the Ploërmelais who scored the only goal of the game.
