There will be no Nancy supporters this Sunday at the Saint-Symphorien stadium. The request filed with the Strasbourg TA by the National Association of Supporters, to challenge the ban on movement of ASNL supporters to Metz, was in fact rejected this Saturday morning.
The summary judge considered that there was indeed a “risk of breach of public order resulting from the antagonism between supporters of ASNL and FC Metz” and that due to “the absence of forces number of police available […], the prefect was able to take the contested decree without committing a manifest error of assessment ”.
We remember that in January 2000, the ultras from Nancy had already lodged an appeal to annul a decree prohibiting them from entering the Serzian stadium for a round of 16 against ASM Belfort. They had won their case. But the context was, it is true, less “hot”.
