The Elective Assembly for the renewal of the office of President for the four-year Olympic period 2024/2028 took place on 22 November in the premises of the AIA Section of Policoro; an eagerly awaited event which saw the participation of numerous members.
The Bureau, chaired by Mario Viola, deputy Andrea Malvasi, secretary Lucia Franco and scrutineers Mattia Sirritiello and Alberto Lospinuso, guaranteed the correct conduct of voting operations in a calm and collaborative atmosphere. The Vice President of the Regional Referees Committee of Basilicata, Leonardo Di Nella, supervised the works as per the Regulations.
At the beginning, the only candidate for the position of Section President, Massimo Petroccelli, referee on the National Futsal Football Referee Commission, presented his program highlighting what should be the objectives of the next four-year period. In particular, he underlined the need to recruit new referees, in collaboration with local schools, and focus on their training in order to guarantee a renewal of regional staff.
At the end of the counting operations, Massimo Petroccelli was elected to the position of Section President with 96 percent of the votes, thus underlining the support and trust of the community towards his proposals for the future of the Section. “It is an honor to represent this Section. I thank everyone for their support and I promise my utmost commitment to face future challenges”, declared the newly elected member during his first official speech.
The Policoro Section, which has always been involved in activities of relevance to the local community, now looks to the future with new objectives and strategies under the guidance of Petroccelli. The enthusiasm of the members and the strong spirit of participation characterized the evening, confirming the central role of the Section in the associative and social life of the Policoro community.
