Freiburg (AP) – Bundesliga club SC Freiburg only wants to move to the new stadium when spectators are allowed again. “That should go hand in hand. Without viewers, it makes no sense,” SC sports director Jochen Saier said on the sidelines of the game against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday evening the DAZN streaming service.
The new 35,000 spectator arena in the north of Freiburg will not be completed at the start of the 2020/21 season anyway. The corona virus pandemic also affected construction. Only games without fans are currently allowed in the Bundesliga. Saier is still expecting restrictions for the new season.
