Freiburg (dpa) – The growing economic and sporting strength allows the Bundesliga soccer club SC Freiburg to look to the future with confidence. “We have developed step by step over the past few years. You can see that in the fact that we no longer have to let go of four or five of our best players every season, as it once was,” said CFO Oliver Leki in the ” Kicker “interview (Monday).
In addition, the 48-year-olds are positive about the opening of the new stadium. “With the new stadium we are making ourselves even stronger economically so that we can invest more in the sporting sector. We are looking to the next few years with great ambition.” This is also due to the fact that numerous new sponsors have joined the sports club despite the corona crisis. “We have won 200 new sponsors in the past 18 months,” said Leki.
But although the Breisgauers are currently the only unbeaten Bundesliga team after the best start to the season in the club’s history, nothing will change their goal, according to Leki. “The first goal is to keep the league. With that attitude we did well and the new stadium won’t change that,” he said.
