Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – Although she will be out for a long time with a cruciate ligament rupture, soccer player Giovanna Hoffmann has received a new contract with SC Freiburg. “I’m really looking forward to more years with Giovanna. As soon as she is fit again, we will hopefully have a lot of success together,” said manager Birgit Bauer in a statement from the Bundesliga club on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old midfielder Hoffmann moved from Werder Bremen to the Baden team last summer, but then suffered a serious knee injury in October. As usual, the club did not provide any information about the contract period.
