Soccer – Freiburg im Breisgau – main proceedings in the Freiburg stadium dispute in February – sport

Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – The legal dispute between SC Freiburg and residents of the new Europa-Park Stadium will enter the next round in February. In the main proceedings at the Freiburg Administrative Court, a decision is to be made as to whether the Bundesliga club may also play on Friday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes (1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.) in its new home ground. The hearing is scheduled for February 9th and 10th, the court announced on Wednesday. The “Badische Zeitung” had previously reported.

The complaining residents want to obtain a judicial revocation of the building permit for the stadium from November 2018. In the preliminary legal protection proceedings before the Administrative Court in Mannheim, they were partially right in the second instance, which is why the sports club is currently not allowed to play its home games on Friday evenings. The ban on Sunday lunchtime would only be important in the 2nd Bundesliga, because the games there start at 1.30 p.m. on Sundays.
