Very good in a friendly match against the Stade Malherbe Caen, his training club, on July 17, 2020, Mathéo Remars signed his first professional contract five months later. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder, originally from Caen, has bonded with the club Quevilly Rouen Metropolis, which he joined in the offseason.
Not kept by Malherbe in 2019
The story is good for Mathéo Remars, who had not been retained by Caen at the end of the 2018-2019 season despite notable performances in the reserve team. The Norman had then chosen to go into exile in Rodez hoping to be able to train among the professionals, promoted in Ligue 2. It had not happened and it was then Quevilly who had offered him a new challenge: to join the team reserves by having the possibility, in the event of good performance, of scratching playing time in National. “It will perhaps be easier to pass the course in National than in Ligue 2”, he told us last July.
