Bremen (dpa / bb) – Viktoria Berlin clearly lost the first test match of the year. At Werder Bremen, the third division soccer team had to admit defeat 0: 3 (0: 3) on Wednesday. Kyu-Hyun Park (16th minute), Marvin Duksch (37th / penalty kick) and Eren Dinkci (45th) scored the goals for the second division side on a side square of the Weser Stadium.
Viktoria had good chances through captain Christoph Menz (22nd) and Jakob Lehwald (58th), but was defeated over the entire season. In the second half the flow of the game was lost due to numerous substitutions on both sides. Deji Beyreuther (86.) headed past from a promising position shortly before the end.
“But it’s not about the result in a game like this,” coach Benedetto Muzzicato said before the game started at his ex-club. The test came about at short notice because Bremen was unable to travel to the training camp in Spain due to several corona cases.
Viktoria is still in the early stages of preparation for the season continuation. The first league game in 2022 is due for the third division promoted team on January 16 (2 p.m.) against Eintracht Braunschweig.
