Soccer. Bernard Guignedoux, the very first goalscorer in the history of PSG, dies at 73

First scorer in the history of Paris Saint-Germain, Bernard Guignedoux has died at the age of 73.

“We mourn the disappearance this morning of the first scorer in the history of the club, Mr. Bernard Guignedoux,” PSG posted on its Twitter account this Friday, January 1.

Midfielder, Bernard Guignedoux evolved as a player for PSG between 1970 and 1972.

And on August 23, 1970, it was he who scored the first goal in the history of the Parisian club, which then played in the National championship, anteroom of the first professional division, during a disputed match on the ground of the Stade Poitevin.

After playing for Paris FC and AS Monaco and then hanging up his boots, he worked as a trainer at the Paris Saint-Germain training center from 1981 to 2003.

Bernard Guignedoux was subsequently assistant coach at RC Strasbourg (2003-2005) and at Valenciennes FC (2005-2009) alongside Antoine Kombouaré.
