WhatsApp is a messaging application that, beyond allowing you to send and call other contacts, has interesting functions such as the famous statuses.
The ephemeral publication that has a maximum duration of 24 hours is another of the many functions that Facebook copied, in this case to Snapchat. With it, in addition to sharing photos, videos, links and texts, it also allows you to make certain configurations that can be very useful.
Although the states were made so that others can see what we want in a certain period of time, WhatsApp offers some settings so that you can hide or deactivate your states.
How to hide the statuses of my contacts
It is normal that certain people feel a great attraction towards these functions and an example of them are those contacts that upload many states during the day.
Some may be annoying the fact of always having to see a contact above each time you enter to see what your friends or family have uploaded.
To avoid this, WhatsApp has an option called “Mute”, which allows you to hide the status of your contacts.
The user can activate this function by going to the status section and press and hold the publication of the contact that you want to hide. Automatically a window appears and you will have to press mute.
This can only be done individually and the states will be hidden last.
And to make these appear again, the process is the same, you will have to press and hold and then press “Select silence”.
How to deactivate my statuses in WhatsApp
In WhatsApp there is no function to completely deactivate your statuses, since for that, not uploading anything is enough, but if the case is that you do not want certain people to see it, you can do the following:
When entering the WhatsApp section, you are going to click on the three vertical points that are in the upper right part of the application.
You will see a menu with two options: Status privacy and Settings. You are going to click on the first one.
A screen will open in which you will have to choose some of the three options that WhatsApp allows: My contacts, My contacts except and Only share with.
Depending on the user’s needs, an option is chosen and that’s it.
