A few days ago, Twitter filed a breach of contract lawsuit against Elon Musk in a US court. The reason for this was Musk’s withdrawal from his original intention to buy the social network. Musk justifies his withdrawal with alleged breaches of contract by Twitter.
The dispute will now be settled in court in October. Musk and his lawyers had asked for the trial to begin in February 2023 the Deutsche Welle reported. But Twitter’s lawyer had asked the court for the earliest possible trial due to the risk of damage.
As Deutsche Welle further reports, the process could actually end in favor of Twitter. One possibility is that Elon Musk will be legally forced to buy Twitter. Another possible outcome would be a penalty for Musk. This amounts to a proud one billion dollars.
