Messages and email
We have already seen a lot of news coming to Ipad OS in Iphone. Since the two devices are often used in parallel, it helps when they have the same capabilities and the news in e-mail and Imessage are like that. In Messages in Ipad OS, you can now, just like in IOS 16, choose to edit messages you have already sent, but the option is only available for a while after you send. Hold your finger on the message you regret, for example because there was a typo, and you will see if the functions “Withdraw” or “Change” are there. If they do, you are free to either just change what you wrote, or completely regret that the message was sent.
Similar functions have also been added to the e-mail program Mail. When you send a new message, you have a few seconds to regret it. At the bottom of the e-mail app, it says “Withdraw”. In Settings, Mail, under the heading “Delay for Withdraw”, you can choose how long the withdrawal period you want. This means that every time you send an email, it will take a while before it is actually sent and you can choose between off, 10, 20, or 30 seconds.
If you are more the type who prepares rather than who regrets it at the last moment, there is an option to time the e-mails you send. If you hold down the Send arrow button in Mail, you can choose a time when the message should be delivered. For this to work, your iPad needs to be connected to the internet and have battery left when the message is to be sent, because it is waiting in the iPad until then.
