LONDON – National Team Coach (National Team) Spanish, Luis Enrique, comments on his team’s failure to reach the final Euro 2020. Enrique also refuses to blame Alvaro Morata, who is considered the culprit for the failure of the Spanish national team.
As is known, the Spanish national team had to stop their steps in the semifinals after surrendering to Italy. The match, which took place at Wembley Stadium, Wednesday (7/7/2021) early in the morning, ended with the score 1-1 for 120 minutes.
This condition also forced a penalty shootout to be carried out to find the winner of the match between the Spanish national team and Italy. In this round, the Spanish national team lost luck to Italy with a score of 2-4.
The defeat could not be separated from the performance of Morata who failed to execute a penalty kick. Even though he had become a hero when equalizing 1-1, Morata immediately became a loser when he failed to become the executioner in the decisive round.
This situation made Spanish fans attack the Juventus player again. However, Enrique as the architect of La Furia Roja – the nickname of the Spanish national team – did not want to appoint Morata as the cause of Spain’s defeat to Italy.

Moreover, the player also experienced difficult times during the 2020 European Cup, including the criticism that kept coming at Morata to the death threats that his family received.
“He (Morata) has a problem with threats. This explains a lot about his personality. Even so, he wanted to take a penalty,” said Enrique, quoted from Sky Sports, Wednesday (7/7/2021).
