LAMPUNG TIME – At the end of last February, the earth’s sky in the northern hemisphere was covered by a greenish tinge commonly known as the aurora.
This phenomenon can not only be witnessed by humans on earth, astronauts who work on the International Space Station can also witness this natural phenomenon from a different perspective.

Reported by Science Alert, the earth’s sky is never really dark, even at night. There are emission of molecules which release excess energy in the form of photons and are referred to as nightglow.
During the day, the molecules are broken down by solar radiation and recombine at night releasing energy. Nightglow actually coats the surface of the earth all the time.
