So Overwatch 2 will be available in Sweden

Blizzard has now said good night to the first Overwatch and has permanently shut down the servers with the game. However, Overwatch 2 is around the corner and will be available as early as tonight.

Overwatch is dead but the sequel is nothing to delay. Developer Blizzard is planning a global launch for Overwatch 2 later today. The sequel that can basically be seen as the same game but with a number of layout changes introduced by Blizzard in 2016 when the original was launched.

For example, Overwatch 2 switches to fighters between two teams of five players. Unlike the first game where each team consisted of six players. Blizzard has also changed the system to unlock new playable characters. Now players have to work their way through a so-called Battle Pass or shell out real money to gain access to newly launched characters.

The characters will still be available completely free of charge. However, it takes some time to unlock the new characters that are introduced. Given the characters that were in the first game, it should take around 100 Quick Play games to unlock the full set of original characters. Players will also need to rack up 50 online match wins to access the most competitive ranked matches.

Overwatch 2 will be available later today starting at 21:00 Swedish time. Unfortunately, Blizzard has chosen not to offer any options to pre-download and install the game yet. This opportunity comes at 18:00 Swedish time. So just three hours before the official launch.

The game gets a global launch. This means that when the game becomes available to players in Sweden, it will also be available to players from all over the planet.
