SO Cholet – USL Dunkerque: The presentation of the match

This Friday, our players are hosting USL Dunkerque at home, on behalf of the 22nd day of National.
After a defeat on the last day against US Orléans, our Cholet players will want to revive this weekend against USL Dunkirk! As for our adversaries, they have the opportunity to overtake our Red and Black in the standings if they win.

Kick-off at 7:30 p.m. at the Omnisports stadium. Presentation of the meeting.

The opponent:

The Union sportive du littoral de Dunkerque is a French football club more than a century old, founded in 1909.
USL Dunkerque’s home matches are played in the Marcel-Tribut stadium (4,933 seats).

Well known in the French football landscape, the club’s golden age corresponds to the years 1966-1997. It was during this period that USL Dunkerque evolved for nearly 30 years in D2 (current Ligue 2) which earned them the record of the club holding the most consecutive seasons played at this level.

Subsequently they will be relegated to National, then to CFA (current National 2) the following year, stagnating at this level with even a few appearances in CFA 2 (current National 3).

It will be necessary to wait until 2013 for the club to regain the National championship, then after having spent 7 seasons in this division the club returns to Ligue2 in 2020.

Unfortunately during the 2021-2022 season, USL Dunkerque will not be able to stay in Ligue 2. The club is therefore playing National this season and hopes to return to Ligue 2 as soon as possible.

The opposing dynamic:

Quite irregular this season, USL Dunkerque, oscillate between victories and defeats. After having achieved a good first part of the season, the Maritimes have been in difficulty since the start of 2023, in fact, they remain on three defeats in a row.

They will therefore want to revive and leave with the three points this Friday evening.

Classification :

7th with 30 points, the Blue and Whites have a fairly balanced record with 9 wins, 3 draws and 9 losses.

Currently, they are two points behind our choletais (6th).

The last meeting:

In the first leg of this 2022-2023 season, our players conceded an away defeat (3-0).

Let’s hope that this time, the victory will be on the side of our choletais!

The unavailable:

Anthony Martin is still suspended, Noah Fatar and Simon Gbegnon are forfeited for this meeting.

Where to follow the match?

The match can be followed live on the FFFTV website.

Word of the game:

Our Red and Black remain on 2 reference games at home with victories against FC Martigues and FBBP 01, they will want to continue with a new victory tonight!
Go SOC!
