This feature can be an appropriate security measure for users to protect data security and privacy on the Internet social media.
In a press release on Facebook, this two-step authentication is likened to an extra lock on a house so that it is not easily infiltrated by thieves.
By activating this feature, of course, you can minimize the potential for hacking by hackers.
Facebook also shared steps to activate the two-step authentication feature that can be applied to Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp accounts.
Here are the steps:
– Open the Settings menu on the Facebook application, then select Security and Login
– Scroll down, select Use two-factor authentication
– Choose one of the two security methods that appear on the screen: the login code from the authentication application; or code from SMS on mobile
– Once two-factor authentication is active, enter the code from Facebook when logging in on a different device/gadget
