A thief disassembled a Mercedes parked in front of the house overnight and then ran away by stealing 20 million won worth of parts.
According to the British Daily Mail on the 13th (local time), on the 10th, Paul Hampton, 56, a businessman living in Birmingham, was astonished when he discovered his Mercedes C-Class car, which had only a skeleton left disassembled. The Mercedes was parked right in front of his house, but none of the family knew that a thief was disassembling the car.
The car thief stole all the vehicle wheels, doors, seats, bonnets, and trunk, and ran away, and there were signs of disassembly in the rear seats and front bumpers. Because the vehicle was cut very delicately, the police believe that this case was the job of a professional vehicle robber. The police said it was likely that more than one person was involved in the crime.
Hampton’s daughter Emily Healey, 21, said, “No one saw the crime scene, and no one heard the sound. No one in the neighborhood knew what had happened. No traces such as fingerprints were left on the car, so the case fell into a labyrinth.
The parts stolen by the thief are worth about 14,000 pounds (about 20.4 million won). The police announced that they would give a £1,000 bounty to anyone who gave information to help identify the suspect.
“The first time I saw the car, I was shocked,” Hampton advised. “Park in a safe place to prevent criminals from taking parts of the car.”
