Traffic operator in the north, Renate Aanes, says that the snow has also started to settle in the last 24 hours
– The snow has mostly settled in Finnmark and at some mountain passes, she says.
The National Road Administration in the North is responsible for traffic in Norland, Troms and Finnmark.
Although much of the snow that ends up on the roads melts, you still have to be aware of the cold temperatures.
– It is slippery in many areas, and especially at night and in the morning hours. This applies to the entire area.
Contractors from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration are out spreading the smoothest parts.
– We’ve had some wagon trains that have had a bit of trouble, but they’ve got going quite quickly, says Aanes.
If you are going to drive in the areas, the traffic operator recommends checking road and weather reports.
– Be careful. It can be slippery and it comes on suddenly, she says.
