The Rosenheimer amazed on Wednesday in Aspen with the best rating of all 56 participants and finished first in his heat with 92.25 points. Annika Morgan also qualified, Noah Vicktor and Leon Gütl failed very close.
“Crazy, right? I can’t believe it either,” said Vockensperger immediately after the exclamation mark before the finals on Friday. “Don’t be too happy yet, don’t praise the morning before the evening or as they say. I think that was a good template for the finals. Now we can really hit the shit again in the finals.”
Mittenwald Morgan also continues
19-year-old Morgan from Mittenwald came in seventh in difficult conditions. “I’m really happy that I made it to the final, because I didn’t expect it. The weather wasn’t so great either, it’s snowing and it’s windy,” she said in the US state of Colorado. “I just knocked it out in the second run, I’m now in the final and I’m extremely happy.” In the discipline, a course of obstacles and jumps must be completed as creatively and technically clean as possible.
