During the night on Sunday and Monday morning in Western and Central Bulgaria the rain is expected to turn into snow, according to the Road Infrastructure Agency. She urges drivers who are about to travel to start with cars with winter-friendly tires, drive at appropriate speeds and caution, keep the required distance and not take sharp maneuvers.
Blocking traffic by vehicles that are not prepared for winter conditions makes it difficult for all other drivers to travel and for snowplows to work.
Priority for maintenance by the cleaning companies are the highways, the busiest directions on the first and second class road network and the passages providing the connections between North and South Bulgaria, the agency clarifies.
