KYIV, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday night that at least five people were killed and 19 injured as a result of a strong storm in the Odessa region in the south of the country.
A severe snowstorm hit Ukraine overnight Monday, causing traffic disruptions and power outages in 17 regions, according to authorities.
More than 1,500 settlements in the country were left without electricity as strong winds damaged power grids, the country’s Energy Ministry said on social media.
The southern regions of Odessa and Mykolaiv, the central region of Dnipropetrovsk and the northern region of kyiv were the most affected by the snowstorm, according to the ministry.
