Snow Showers to Hit Pittsburgh: Weather Update

Timing and Intensity

This evening, Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas will experience snow showers. The snowfall is expected to start during the evening commute, with the heaviest snow falling between 9 p.m. and midnight. The most intense snow is anticipated to clear from west to east by 3-4 a.m. Saturday morning.

Snow Accumulation

Pittsburgh and the southern regions are forecasted to receive around two to four inches of snowfall. However, higher snow accumulation is expected in Garrett, Preston, and Somerset Counties, which are under a Winter Storm Warning. Most other areas are under a Winter Weather Advisory.

Impacted Counties

The current Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisory are set to expire at 7 a.m. Saturday. However, it is possible that some counties will be eased out of the advisories before that time.

Weekend and Beyond

Once the snow showers diminish on Saturday, the rest of the weekend is expected to be relatively quiet weather-wise. Furthermore, the temperatures will rise, giving way to a spring-like feel for the early part of next week.
